Harris County Flood Control Bond Issue

The bond election on August 26th, 2018 was approved.  This means $2.5 billion dollars will be coming to Houston area for flood mitigation.  What does it mean for our area?  See the Chronicle and Harris County Flood Control District for a list of projects and here for a summary.  Notice Brays Bayou Watershed has multiple projects: improving conveyance on Brays Bayou, Keegan’s Bayou, Fondren Diversion Channel.  There is also money set aside to investigate additional detention areas.  The Ruffino property is ideal for its size and location between Willow Waterhole and Arthur Story Park.
